Consigned by the Myers Ranch and sired by their Leading Sire FRENCHMANS GUY, the 2014 Buckskin Mare GUYZ SUZY Q drew considerable prior interest and bidding action and commanded a final bid of $110,000. She left the ring under the new ownership of Harry LaToush from Scott City, Kansas – a repeat buyer since 2003. Guyz Suzy Q is out of the proven mare DAISY DUKE DASH, a Multiple Futurity Winner with LTE of $35,000 and sired by #1 Leading Barrel Horse Sire DASH TA FAME SI 113.

FRENCHMANS FIRESTAR, a 2014 Palomino Mare sired by FRENCHMANS GUY and out of a PADDYS IRISH WHISKEY bred mare, was close behind as she drew a bid of $101,000. Consigned by the Myers Ranch (Agent) and trained by Brandon Myers, repeat buyers, the Platts Family from Scottsdale, Arizona, had the final bid and will now include her into their successful barrel futurity program.

BILL MYERS’ reaction as the gavel fell. The Two-Year-Old Mare GUYZ SUZY Q drew a Record Setting Bid of $110,000 to top the 2016 MYERS RANCH / COPPER SPRING RANCH PERFORMANCE HORSE SALE on August 27th at the Copper Spring Ranch Arena in Bozeman, Montana.

Records were once again shattered at the 2016 Edition of the Myers Ranch/Copper Spring Ranch Performance Horse Sale. Presented on August 27th in Bozeman, Montana, the sale followed the afternoon preview in the CSR Indoor Arena.

Years of planning and promotion have lead to one of the most successful breeding programs in the industry and becoming the leading 2-Year-Old Program in the Nation. Myers Performance Horses has attained that level of success not only in the Barrel Racing pen but in the Performance Arena as well. Owned by Bill & Deb Myers along with their sons Chad, Billy, Brandon & Brady from near St. Onge, South Dakota, they are home to the $10+ Million Leading Sire Frenchmans Guy and also stand A Smooth Guy and Cowboys Cartel SI 93. Two and 3-Year-Old Arena Prospects and select Weanlings and Yearlings were offered in the 2016 sale sired by their senior sires. Also standing at the ranch are a battery of junior stallions all sired by Frenchmans Guy - Ima Special Kindaguy, This Guyz A Keeper and Mr Sassy Frenchman.

When Guyz Suzy Q and Bill Myers rode out of the sale ring on that Saturday evening, a new All-Time Sale Record had been set. The 2014 Buckskin Mare, sired by Frenchmans Guy and out of Multiple Futurity Winner Daisy Duke Dash by Dash Ta Fame SI 113, drew phenomenal pre-sale interest and non-stop active bidding before attaining a final bid of $110,000 from Harry LaToush. A repeat buyer, LaToush shared, “I have purchased barrel racing performance horses from Bill and Debbie Myers & Family since 2003. I kept buying Myers’ better pedigreed horses all along.” Located in Scott City, Kansas, LaToush already owns some of the best including Guys Best Bet, sired by Frenchmans Guy, and Guyz Smooth Amber by A Smooth Guy. He added, “I bought these mares not to just futurity on but to go on with and eventually raise more great pedigreed colts.” He shared that he currently has two embryo transfers in recipient mares from the cross of Guys Best Bet and #1 Leading Sire Dash Ta Fame SI 113.

Another record sale leader at the 2016 sale was Frenchmans Firestar - a Two-Year-Old Palomino Mare, again sired by Frenchmans Guy and out of a Paddys Irish Whiskey bred dam and trained by Brandon Myers. Myers Performance Horses acted as the agent for Jason & Melissa Mez from Piedmont, South Dakota and she left the ring on a final bid of $101,000. She will be entering into the proven Barrel Futurity Program of Joey, Wendy & Rylea Platts from Scottsdale, Arizona. They thanked the Myers for raising such awesome prospects and added, “Frenchmans Firestar is more than we could have imagined and definitely worth it all. She will go home to Texas with our trainer Joy Wargo to start her on the barrels and continue to ride her throughout her futurity year.”

Copper Spring Ranch is a state-of-the-art facility owned by Karen Gilhousen. Managers Brian & Lisa Anderson oversee the daily ranch operations and Dr. Chris Ray operates his Ray Equine Services @ CSR at the updated veterinary clinic located onsite. They stand the proven producer Prime Talent SI 107, one of Corona Cartel’s fastest sons. A Multiple Stakes Winner and race sire of over $1.5 Million in Money Earners, he has 14 progeny with Speed Indexes of 100-121. They also stand the stallion Furyofthewind SI 96 with Progeny Race Earnings of $5.4+ Million and current Barrel Racing EquiStat Earners of $43,034.

Acting as agent, CSR’s top seller for 2016 was the 2014 Palomino Stallion Raysen Ta The Bar - sired by Dash Ta Fame SI 113 and out of French Bar Belle, a daughter of Frenchmans Guy. This arena and stallion prospect has 3 and 4-year-old full brothers currently in training with Monica McClung. Shelly Shields from Cochran, Alberta Canada had the bid at $70,000.

Another sale topper for CSR was the Two-Year-Old Black Gelding Dash Ta Liberty. Again sired by Dash Ta Fame SI 113, he is out of their ranch broodmare Lanes Liberty Belle by Lanes Leinster SI 101. “This gelding is designed to be a champion! One of the most proven crosses in the industy.” Paid in Full to the Future Fortunes, this well started prospect also drew considerable pre-sale interest and left the ring at $26,000 from Robert & Brenda Emmert from Hockley, Texas.

Auctioneer for the 2016 sale was Lynn Weishaar, Reva, South Dakota and Announcer was John E. Johnson from Piedmont, South Dakota. Clerk was Sharon Freed, St. Onge, South Dakota, and live internet coverage of the preview and sale was handled by Michael Cloward from 3-2-1 Action Video, Fort Worth, Texas.
